Project Overview
In April 2021, IFB Appliances, a leading provider of home appliances in India, significantly upgraded their online platform with the help of Wagento. This strategic shift involved migrating from Magento 1 to Magento 2, primarily to modernize their digital presence and improve customer experience amidst rising demand. The successful upgrade resulted in IFB Appliances doubling their daily sales volume shortly after the new website went live.
Founded in 1989, IFB has been a pioneer in the Indian appliance market, introducing innovative products like the country’s first front load washing machine and smart load washing machine, among others. Despite their strong market presence, IFB faced challenges with their Magento 1 site, which was outdated and cluttered with unstable customizations and an over-reliance on third-party extensions. These issues were critical as they hindered the site's performance and scalability.
The migration process orchestrated by Wagento was meticulous, involving the integration of custom developments, wireframes, and third-party ERP integrations to enhance the site's functionality and user experience. The team's dedication was evident as they often worked beyond standard hours, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal downtime.
Post-migration, IFB’s daily sales figures rose significantly from an average of ₹150,000-200,000 to ₹300,000-400,000, showcasing the immediate impact of the upgraded platform. Additionally, the new Magento 2 site boasted impressive technical stats with cache coverage and hit ratios averaging 95% and 96% respectively, effectively managing up to 400,000 daily requests. This robust performance underlines Magento Commerce’s scalability and its role in supporting IFB's ongoing growth and expansion plans. Client
