Project Overview

When The International Kitchen first came to Oneupweb, they were looking to offer new cooking tour vacations in Peru, Turkey, Chile, Argentina and India. They’d been in the international cooking tour industry since 1994, but they were experiencing growing competition. They wanted to promote their new cooking vacations, to be sure they remained one of the top cooking tour destinations on the web, and they wanted to retain former customers and attract new clientele. Oneupweb began with a natural search campaign, assessing search engine result positions and keyword performance, as well as the popularity of The International Kitchen’s website, blog and social properties. We conducted a social media audit, comparing The International Kitchen’s properties against those of their competitors and drawing from insight to offer advice on how to better play in that space. Market research also helped inform our recommendations for social media content, tonality and style and reaching a brand new target audience. The Results Our initial marketing efforts helped increase the number of brand advocates on The International Kitchen’s Facebook page by 567%. Twitter followers increased 625% in that same month, and YouTube interactions improved by 232%. The International Kitchen was quick to implement Oneupweb’s additional social media recommendations, increasing the amount of visual content on their social platforms and generally improving engagement across the board. The International Kitchen will experience new and sustained growth as it breaks into new markets, starting with its LGBT-friendly tour offerings and beyond.
