Project Overview

The Challenge: As Reebok seeks to re-establish itself as the world’s leading fitness brand, it recognized the need to develop stronger relationships with the fitness professional audience (i.e., personal trainers, yoga instructors, coaches, etc.). To do so, they launched ReebokOne, an online community where these professionals can connect with one another, share ideas, get inspired and, of course, purchase/sell Reebok goods. But, with all the other things they have to do (and sites that they already visit), how can we get these professionals join our community. With a specific goal of 50,000 members in one year, we had our work cut out for us. The Insight: We know that fitness trainers are a very competitive group of individuals. And very self-aware. We know that they are very driven and believe whole-heartedly in the effectiveness of fitness on the human body as well as the human mind. We also know that they often work alone and are hungry for information on how others have come to their success. If we could lift up like-minded fitness professionals to rock star status, we felt we could lift the whole industry and fitness trainers would sign up to belong to an elite club and could learn from each other. The Moral of the Story: Fitness awakens your passion for life. The Solution: We found the top fitness trainers in the world and while known in their own communities, were not well known in the world. The idea was to tell their stories and give them a platform to be the rock stars they are. It all started with a moral to the Reebok story; “Fitness awakens your passion for life.” (A core belief that was true for Reebok and true to fitness trainers.) Then we began to tell stories based on that moral from the top fitness trainers in the world. From US to Russia, from France to Spain, from Japan to New Zealand we told inspirational, motivating, emotional stories. These stories were then shared in social media and other targeted sites reaching these fitness professionals. Results: This is the exciting part.
