Ikon was founded in 1999 to service the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Since then we have grown from a staff of eight to over 200 people and a huge array of clients – including Commonwealth Bank, Bankwest, Myer, Mazda, Subway, NIB, and Penguin.
We have offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland and Wellington. Ikon is the home to some of Australasia’s finest and most respected thinkers across communications disciplines – Strategy, Data, Planning, Buying, Programmatic, SEM and SEO, Social Media, Broadcast and Video, Activation.
Our name Ikon represents our philosophy around being Ikonoclastic.
Ikonoclasm is the deliberate destruction within a culture of the culture’s own icons, symbols and political motives. It’s understanding the rules that dictate the way we act, and then finding a better way that breaks the status quo.
It’s a restlessness with never settling. Good, is never good enough. It’s being prepared to stand out from the pack. It’s not being different for different’s sake, but for a better state.
