Project Overview
Founded in 1980, TEEN LINE is a confidential telephone helpline for teenaged callers that operates out of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Faced with ever-increasing mobile traffic and a website that offered a very poor mobile experience, TEEN LINE turned to Sidebench to help modernize the non-profit’s digital offerings.
After an extended discovery and planning phase to hone in on TEEN LINE’s primary needs, we built a heavily customized responsive WordPress-based site that features a digitized version of their Youth Yellow Pages, an eCommerce storefront, a responsive phpBB message board, and a brand new donation module that uses the Stripe API. Additionally, to further teens’ access to resources and bolster TEEN LINE’s outreach efforts, we created the first ever TEEN LINE Youth Yellow Pages app for both iOS & Android. The app utilizes the WordPress API to pull the necessary data from the site, allowing the TEEN LINE staff to simply update the YYP info once in order for it to populate across all digital platforms.
Since the new TEEN LINE site launched, the shift in mobile engagement has been quite significant, as mobile bounce rates have decreased by over 25%.Client
