The Future of Search May Depend on More Than One PlatformThe discussion on how TurboRank perceives authority is quite relevant to the future of search. Nobody can predict for sure whether Google, ChatGPT, or another platform will take over most product research a few years down the road. What is unlikely to change is the need for comparison, explanation, reviews, and valuable information before making a purchase. Distributing these assets across different platforms is much safer than relying on a single algorithm. This, apparently, is the core of TurboRank’s approach.

TurboRank originally built its reputation around YouTube, and that’s still a big part of what they do.TurboRank originally built its reputation around YouTube, and that’s still a big part of what they do. But their newer Authority Engine approach goes quite a bit further. They’re basically looking at the entire research trail a customer goes through online and figuring out where a company is showing up and, probably more importantly, where it isn’t. I think that’s where marketing is heading anyway. Search, YouTube, Reddit and AI recommendations are starting to overlap so much that treating them as completely separate channels doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore.
