WE ARE A FULL SERVICE DIGITAL AGENCY - Ten years ago, we changed our company name to our first names. We were also just two guys in 2012, working out of a friend’s attic. Our new name was an acknowledgment of a more authentic sense of who we were; an honest take on who we are; and a rebuke of our industry peers and their tendency to use the agency founder’s last names. To put it more bluntly, we’ve always liked the idea of being on a first-name basis with our clients. As we’ve grown as an agency, we’ve also discovered that that last idea — about the first-name basis — to be precious. To the many people we are fortunate enough to call our clients and friends, we aren’t referred to as James & Matthew. We’re just Jim and Matt; a higher level of familiarity. It’s an honor we hope never goes away. Things have changed immensely since we were two guys in that attic. We’ve brought on incredible talent. People who work extremely hard; faithful team members on whom we can rely; and new partners. Force multipliers. We’re grateful for every one of them. With that, we introduce ourselves as JXM. WE BELIEVE IN MAKING BRANDS GREATER THAN - Over 30 years ago, Antonio Damasio sought to undermine a prevailing belief among his colleagues—the belief that logic yielded good decisions and emotion led to bad decisions. Observing a group of people who (because of a specific brain trauma) had lost the ability to register emotional reactions, his assumption was they’d be able to filter out the emotional noise often attached to decision-making. They’d be like Mr. Spock—cool, rational and incapable of error. Something completely different happened. Damasio found that without emotion, the facts were overwhelming and nearly meaningless. There was no emotional context for their decision-making process. No markers to indicate whether a previous experience had yielded good, bad or indifferent results. The new understanding was this: Emotion doesn’t hinder our decisions, it enables them. It clarifies the logic and provides a roadmap for desirable results. What does this have to do with us? With our clients? Everything. Logic alone won’t convince our clients’ audiences to choose their brand. And logic alone won’t help clients choose to work with Struck. That’s why we’ve spent our careers fighting for emotion—crafting work that connects with an audience on a level that goes beyond feature, function and bang-for-your-buck and we thrive in that space. So, we know that we’re probably not the logical choice. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’re best known for our Bill Lumbergh campaign for Atlassian HipChat, which achieved 20 times the average response to digital video advertising. We believe in certain things that work: intellectual honesty, the power of emotion to drive decisions, over-servicing clients. We have deep experience in and love for technology advertising. We bring humanity and thus motivating power to it. We’ve helped solve B2B problems for technology clients ranging from Atlassian, Microsoft, Intel, Dell, HP and Google Wallet to start-ups like SmartRecruiters and Galvanize. We’ve also done lots of consumer tech, for brands like Sprint, Verizon and Nokia.
